Children’s personality is the psychological behavior system has stability anduniqueness, the development of children’s personality is the result of the nature andnurture factors together, the family is the originally and main place of the children,onthe role of children’s personality development to be reckoned with. Familyfunctioning is the basic reflection of conditions about family provide children withvarious aspects of the development environment, is bound to have important influenceon children’s personality. Existing research shows that the family function is one ofthe important factors affecting all aspects of children’s personality development.Only-child parents is emerging in the development of society, with the not only-childparents may have much differences in many respects,but there is almost blank of thedomestic research for the difference.In view of this, this study will make the family function differences betweenonly-child parents family and not only-child parents family as the breakthrough pointand make a deep discussion, reveal the influence of this differences to children’spersonality. Specific research questions are: The family function differences ofone-child parents family with the not one-child parents;Differences in children’spersonality development between Only-child parents family and not only-childparents family; The influence of family functioning on children’s personality.Select271children of Jinan kindergarten to be research subjects, use parentsreport to evaluate the family function, in the form of teachers report assessing youngchildren’s personality development.The main findings of the study were as follows:First, the only-child parents family function scoring average in each dimension,are higher than the not only-child parents family, significant differences on the fourdimensions: communication, roles, emotional reactions and general familyfunctioning.Second, gender only significant influence on children’s personality seriouslyself-control dimension. Grade of children’s personality development different dimensions have significant influence. In the smart features, serious self-control,prosocial scoring, meddle and large significantly higher than that of small classes, andthere were no significant differences between medium and large; Scores on emotionalstability, small classes, middle classes, and there were significant differences betweenthe large; On extroversion score, taipans significantly higher than that of small classes,middle classes, and there is no significant difference between small and middleclasses.Third, scoring average of children’s personality of only-child parents family inthe smart features, serious self-control, prosocial and extroversion dimension werehigher than the not only-child parents family, and a significant difference was found inthe prosocial and extroversion dimension.Fourth, the correlation analysis showed that the only-child parents family,communication and self-control, prosocial seriously was significantly positivelyrelated; Role and intelligent features, prosocial was significantly positively related;Emotional reactions and prosocial remarkable positive correlation; Problem solving,emotional involvement, behavior control are that there is no significant correlationbetween children’s personality all dimensions; General function and intelligentcharacteristics, prosocial, extroversion has significant positive correlation. Regressionanalysis showed that the only-child parents in family function of problem solving canpositively predict children’s personality, emotional stability, communication canpositively predict prosocial, emotional responses can positively predict children’sextroversion, family function of general intelligence of children’s personalitycharacteristics, prosocial, extroversion has positive prediction function. The notonly-child parents in the family, problem solving and intelligent features, prosocial,emotional stability, and has significant positive correlation between extroversion;Communication with intelligent characteristics, prosocial, were significantly positivecorrelation between extroversion; Emotional reactions and intelligent characteristics,extroversion was significantly positively related; Emotional intervention and controlwas significantly positively related to seriously; Behavior control and emotionalstability was significantly positively related; General function and intelligent characteristics, prosocial, extroversion all was significantly positively related; Rolesand there is no significant correlation between children’s personality development alldimensions. Regression analysis shows that the not only-child parents family functionof problem solving in the family can positively predict children’s personality ofprosocial, emotional responses can positively predict children’s extroversion, familyfunction of general intelligence of children’s personality characteristics and socialpositive prediction function.
