Addiction of adolescent online games is a major problem that can not be ignored in the process of adolescent education.The influence of family on teenagers is lasting and far-reaching,which plays a very important role in many factors affecting adolescent online game addiction.However,how family factors affect adolescent online game addiction needs to be further explored.In order to explore the influence of family factors on adolescent online game addiction and its internal mechanism,this study made quantitative analysis and qualitative research.Through these two studies,this paper analyzes the family factors that influence adolescent online game addiction,and on this basis,proposes the intervention countermeasures of adolescent online game addiction.The quantitative research methods are as follows:(1)Using cluster sampling method,18 classes were selected from 5 middle schools in Hunan Province,817 teenagers and their parents were investigated by questionnaire;(2)The scales used in the questionnaire survey are: Kessler Psychological Distress.scale,Parent-child Affinity questionnaire,Basic Psychological Needs scale,Online Game Addiction scale.The methods of qualitative research are as follows:(1)Through advertising recruitment of junior high school students and their parents in Xiangtan County,Hunan Province,parents and students were interviewed according to the scale results.The screening scales or criteria used by parents are: Dsm-5 Adapted Online Game Addiction questionnaire,Kessler Psychological Distress questionnaire,Parent-child Relationship questionnaire,which must be a father or mother with a junior high school education or above;the screening scales used by students are: Online Game Addiction questionnaire,Parent-child Relationship scale,Basic Psychological Needs questionnaire.According to the self-report of parents or students,adolescents with mild online game addiction or above will be invited to participate in family interviews.(2)According to the draft interview outline,we conducted semi-structured interviews with teenagers and their parents and recorded them,mainly for parents and teenagers to describe their family situation and the use of online games.Finally,we transcribed the recordings into text for data analysis.The quantitative results are as follows:(1)Parents’ psychological distress can positively predict adolescents’ online game addiction;(2)Adolescents’ basic psychological needs and parent-child relationship have mediating effects on the influence of parents’ psychological distress on adolescents’ online game addiction(3)There is a chain mediating effect between the basic psychological needs of adolescents and parent-child relationship in the influence of parents’ psychological distress on adolescents’ online game addiction.The quantitative results are as follows:(1)There are four main factors influencing adolescents’ online game addiction: Family factors,Game factors,External factors and Self factors.(2)Among the influencing factors,family factors account for the highest frequency,and the poor parent-child relationship is the most influential factor in the family factors.Therefore,the conclusions of this study are as follows:Family factor is an important factor affecting adolescents’ online game addiction,in which the quality of parent-child relationship plays a key role.Therefore,parents should actively improve the parent-child relationship and strengthen parent-child communication,so as to effectively prevent and intervene teenagers’ online game addiction.
