As the earliest entities of letters home in China at this moment, the letters home of wooden slips in Shuihudi (睡虎地),Yunmeng County (云梦县),Hubei Province, have the important value of historical research. This thesis’s main subject of study is the letters home of wooden slips in Shuihudi. On the basis of referenceing and discriminating the previous research results, I try to study all the words of the two letters home, and try my best to list all the questions associated with it. Then,give reasonable inference and reasonable doubt. The main subjects of study of this thesis are the letters home’s being unearthed and interpretation and identification of them, persons,families, the family things and the war of the two letters home.The main part of this thesis is divided into three chapters.The main subjects of the first chapter are the letters home’s being unearthed and interpretation and identification of them.Firstly,introduces the basic situation of the letters home’s being unearthed,including the tomb and its structure,the funerary objects and the information of the tomb’s owner. Secondly,point out the word count errors of the discriminated words,and through demonstrating, supply two words,namely "Ye" ("也") of the discriminated words.Thirdly,point out the differences of discriminated words between the two versions,and lay the foundation for the demonstration and expanding of the whole thesis.At the same time,in order to study the discriminated words better,I list the pictures of the letters home of wooden slips and the discriminated words together.At last,do translation and annotation of the whole letters home.The word count errors of the discriminated words and the errors’ expanding.tell us that the study of the letters home of wooden slips in Shuihudi need to be given more attention.The main subjects of the second chapter are persons,families and the family things of the two letters home.In this chapter,through the research of all the persons of the two letters home,study the interpersonal relationship of them. And then,try to study the family’s structure.At last,refining and arrange the family things of the two letters home.Through demonstrating,I put forward my own view on Xinfu (新负), Yuan (妴) or Xinfuyuan (新负妴).From my point of view,Xinfuyuan is two persons’ name, namely Xinfu and Yuan. About their relationship with Jing (惊), we can infer that Xinfu is Jing’s wife, and Yuan is an underage girl, who is the child of Xinfu and Jing."Louli Yanzheng Zhangren" ("(?) 里阎诤丈人") maybe one of Heifu’s (黑夫) clan’s common neighbors or an old man of Heifu’s family’s common relatives."Zhangren" ("丈人") of "Xinfu work hard to take care of Zhangren"in NO.11 wooden slips and "two old persons"("两老") in NO.6 wooden slips should have the same part,namely the same person, and then,I list all the possible situations.On the family’s structure of Heifu’s clan which we can infer from the letters home of wooden slips in Shuihudi, my piont of view is that the family’s structure may be united families in which brothers live together,share wealth, and this family’s structure is more likely to be true. However, the family also may consist of several stem families and several nuclear families,and these two different conditions are both reasonable.The last chapter is about the war written in the two letters. On the basis of previous research,I make the meaning of "stationed Huaiyang,attack Fancheng" ("佐淮阳,攻反城") clear, including the research of relationship of "Huaiyang" ("淮阳"),"Fancheng" ("反城") and "Yingchen" ("郢陈"),and educe that "Huaiyang" and "Fancheng" are not the same place. The name of "Yingchen" is is a non-existent place,and "Records of the Historian" caused by the previous misunderstanding, in fact there isn’t this name. This chapter also research the soldiers Heifu and Jing, including their Life in the camp, psychological characteristics and their choice of life.The army life of the two brothers Heifu and Jing,lack of clothes and money,but their fighting task is very difficult. Long time’s attack of Fancheng,and the danger of casualties in battle, make the two brothers panic. In the late Warring States Period, as the soldiers of the State of Qin, Heifu and Jing only had two choices of life,namely to be a farmer or to be a soldier.The two letters written by Heifu and Jing, told us that their army life which was lack of clothes and money,expressed their missing of family and inner fear and upset.In the custody of the NO.4 tomb’s owner,these two letters are circulated up to now,therefore, become a key to understand the stories over 2000 ago, and become the way of us to feel that age.
