Art and psychology have never been separated. Since Freud founded psychoanalysis, such connectedness could be tracked. Jung revealed such a possibility, in the deep of everyone’s subconscious exists the collective unconscious, where bears our original experience and memories. The expression mechanism of archetype is symbol, archetype through symbol to express. The real art is a symbol of the collective unconscious. It is art as a compensation to adjust special biases a mental illness in every age. Experimental videos not only became the closest form to the dream, but also be the best medium of expression for creators to present their subjective point of view. By comparing fluxfilms(1960s) and contemporary electronic music visualization animation/video, we can find some same symbols to discern the artist’s unconsciousness and contact their historical background to make discussion.
