| Although the current domestic paper books seem to be booming, there still are many problems hidden under the book information design, particularly the problems such as plagiarizing, homogeneity, and excessive packaging. The modern information technology has brought unprecedented changes to people’s reading psychology and reading habits. Reading is no longer reading word for word deeply, but instead by quickly, easily and fast consuming reading. In other words, our society has entered the era of "shallow reading". Thus how to summarize, arrange, visualize the complicate, repeated, and overload information to create a new book language that can transfer interesting information is quite necessary in the new era and it is also the design direction of the modern books. The information design of course becomes the core of the design of the printing books in this new era.Since the paper books is an important carrier of information transmission, an accurate and reasonable means of expression is required in order to properly present the content and information in the books. This kind of expression mean should not be out of thin air. On the contrary, it should be based on the content and information that the books designed to convey and it should be the reasonable communication method between the information and the presenting mode. Essentially speaking the book design is the design for its content and information.This article is mainly divided into four parts: the significance and problems of the information design to the printing books, the visual reading psychology in the shallow reading era, method exploration and information design of the printing books in the shallow reading era, the role changing of the book designer in the information era. The paper discusses the significance of the information design of the printing books in the shallow reading era from the above four aspects, so as to bring some references and thoughts for the modern book design. |
