The mid-late Tang Dynasty was a very important transformation period for Tang to Song Dynasty. After The An-Shi Rebellion, with the Local Power risen, Fanzhen problem was gradually prominence. Westen Zhejiang Region was situated in narrow sense of The Jiangnan Area. Because of it’s unique geographic location and economic conditions, Westen Zhejiang Region became an important economic Fanzhen in the mid-late Tang Dynasty. This article use the scholars in Mufu of Westen Zhejiang Region as the breakthrough point, and investigation on the relationship between Westen Zhejiang Region and Central Government from The political level and The social level. Attempt to research The times significance of Westen Zhejiang Region in transformation period for Tang to Song Dynasty.Apart from introduction and conclusion, the body text consists of four chapters. The first chapter start with population and jurisdictional area elements, to discuss about the relationship between geographical environment and status change of Westen Zhejiang Region. Through the drawing and statistics, findable to know that the status of each prefectures and counties was uptrending. Further more the amplitude was obviously changed in Dali period of Tang Daizong and Huichang period of Tang Wuzong. The change of status and population was inseparable from each other. First, the population of Westen Zhejiang Region was obviously changed in this two periods. Second, the change of population was directly related to the economic development.The second chapter discuss about the background of the scholars in Zhexi Mufu from the view of their origin, position before the Zhexi Mufu and reasons why them into the Zhexi Mufu. Through the statistics, first know that the number of scholars who had imperial examination origin accounted for nearly half of the total number. The imperial examination origin gradually became a important approach for scholars to entered the political stratum. However only a few number of scholars who entered the political stratum by clan. The aristocratic family were difficult to form a great family for several generations like Wei and Jin Dynasties. The remaining part of scholar’s origin was not clearly, some of them were juniors of the pedigrees, and the other scholars were eruditely or lived in Jianghuai Region. Second, before into the Zhexi Mufu, most of scholars were served as basic civil official in central or locality, the others were approximate served as middle civil official in central. Furthermore, after the first position,some of them were into the Zhexi Mufu directly, and some of them were circuitous to the Zhexi Mufu. Third, scholars choose into the Zhexi Mufu because it’s beneficial to their official career, and the chief executive of Zhexi Mufu were ingeniously and prestigious. Moreover, the relationship between Westen Zhejiang Region and Central Government was harmoniously.The third chapter main discuss about the position and concurrent position which scholars served for the Zhexi Mufu, and the moving situation after the Zhexi Mufu. Through the statistics, findable to know that most scholars served as deputy envoy, xingjunsima, judge and other civil official. During their tenure, always took central title or virtual title in the form of experiment, concurrent or agent. After the Zhexi Mufu, some of scholars promoted into Central Government, some of them transferred to the local government, some of them transferred to the other Mufu, and few of them privated because of unrest. Before the period of Tang Xizong, scholars were still able to promote into Central Government. However, after the period of Tang Xizong, scholars were difficult to promote into Central Government. It’s closely related with the disorder of electoral system, local uprisings and the social turbulence.The last chapter discuss about the social character of the scholars in Zhexi Mufu from the view of their marital shapes and social communication. According to the statistic analysis, the scholars in Zhexi Mufu still attached importance to the family status marriage. What’s more, only a minority of the couples divorced, most couples were minded and observed the ritual. There were not a few remarriage phenomenon, some scholars were two married, and some of them even three married. The groups which the scholars associated with were confucians, buddhist monks and taoist priests. Some of them associated with personages through poetry responsory and banquet assembly. Some of them were free and easy, abandoned themselves to nature, to pursuit the peace of mind.
