As a result of the An-Shi Rebellion,most of the northern revenue areas that the central Tang relied on were held by vassal towns.They dominated one side and stood against the central government,which seriously affected the state’s economic and financial income.The East Zhejiang Region in Tang Dynasty was built after the An-Shi Rebellion.Because it is located in the southeast coast,less affected by the war.In the Eastern Jin Dynasty more than two hundred and seventy years of business,to Sui and Tang Dynasty had been relatively rich,when called Yue Zhou " Income from land,salt and fishery are among the highest in the world ",naturally became the Tang central financial resources after the An-Shi Rebellion.The special economic significance of the East Zhejiang Region determined the governance policy of the central government of Tang Dynasty to the host province of Zhejiang.On the basis of stable control,the main task was to develop the economy and ensure the supply of wealth.The East Zhejiang Region is located in the southeast coastal subtropical area,with moderate temperature and hot rain throughout the year.Abundant precipitation,dense river network;Complex and diverse landforms,mainly hills,low mountains and plains,accompanied by a long and winding coastline,such superior natural geographical conditions are not only suitable for the development of agriculture,but also for the development of handicraft industry to provide rich raw materials.On the basis of the natural terrain,the Tang government dredged the rivers and lakes in eastern of the East Zhejiang Region for many times and connected the rivers and lakes with artificial canals,forming an extensive land and water transportation network with water as the main and land as the auxiliary,which provided convenient conditions for the commercial development.In the early Tang Dynasty,the central government carried out the policy of rest and rest,improved the national household registration management,and encouraged the northern migra.The central government of the Tang Dynasty and the local officials of the host province of Zhejiang were also able to fully realize and make use of the superior natural and geographical conditions of eastern Zhejiang,actively carry out the construction of various irrigation and water conservancy facilities and traffic roads in eastern Zhejiang,and encourage the development of local handicraft industry and commerce.The spread of multiple cropping system and new agricultural tools such as winding plough,shaft-wheels and sweep greatly promoted the increase of agricultural output in East Zhejiang.In the late Tang Dynasty,the silk weaving level in eastern Zhejiang was extremely developed,with large output,rich varieties and diverse colors.Yue Kiln celadon is not only well known in China,but also exported overseas.In addition,Zhejiang’s host shipbuilding industry,tea industry,salt industry,paper industry and so on have great development in the Tang Dynasty.The prosperity of agriculture and handicraft industry provided enough surplus products to sell,which in turn promoted the prosperity of commerce in eastern Zhejiang.
