On The Phenomenon Of Russian Idioms

Russia has a splendid culture, and it is an integral part of the World Cultural Heritage. The Russian Idioms are the quintessence of the Russian language and culture, which are the defined statements extracted over many centuries and have the distinct features of the times and the nation. The culture of the Russian Idioms is both extensive and profound, many of which are still used to this day, and the meanings expressed by them are not only restricted to the former situations, but have also changed during the different times to adapt the different circumstances.The thesis is divided into four chapters:In Chapter One, I will introduce the origin and structure of the Russian Idioms as well as the research status and development tendency of the Precedent Phenomenon both in China and abroad.In Chapter Two, I will discuss the basic conception of the Precedent Theory and its development, the components of the Precedent Phenomenon, the systematicness of the Precedent Phenomenon and its features.In Chapter Three, I will give specific examples of the Precedent Names and Precedent Expressions of the Russian Idioms of different origins, and I will also make analyses of the culture reflected by them.In Chapter Four, I will elucidate the cultural functions of the Precedent Phenomenon, including the Name Function, Emotional Function, Trust Function and the Argot Function.In this thesis, I will discuss the Precedent Phenomenon of the Russian Idioms, the origin of Precedent Phenomenon and its cultural function, in order to provide some valuable references for other researchers who shall study the Precedent Phenomenon.
