Text The Nineteenth Century Russian Literature Precedent Phenomenon

Precedent theory was firstly put forward by Kapayлов Ю. H. in1986. Due to the ambiguity characteristic of "text", there were various interpretations on "precedent text". With the intensive study on precedent text, based on the theory by Kapayлов Ю. H.,(?) B. B. replaced "precedent text" by "precedent phenomenon" and formed a precedent theoretic system with "precedenency" as its core.Based on the corpus of Russian literature in19th century.,this paper aims to make a theoretic study on precedent phenomenon in these literary text and make a linguistic and functional analysis in order to summarize the precedent phenomenon and try to provide the authors’own viewpoints and understanding, hoping to cast some light on the study of "precedent phenomenon".This paper divides into four chapters.Chapter One introduces the origins and development of research on "precedent phenomenon".Chapter Two covers the theoretic basis and several research aspects of precedent phenomenon such as development from "precedent text" to "precedent phenomenon" and hierarchical division of precedent phenomenon.Chapter Three lists the precedent phenomenon that appeared in the literary text in Russian literature in19th century from the linguistic aspect. An analysis was made on the precedent phenomenon of the signified and the signifiant.Chapter Four covers the basic functions of precedent phenomenon:the nominative function, the persuasive function, the symbolic function and the expressive function.
