The creation of the children’s fiction in Jiangsu has already gotten huge advance in the New Period. This district has emerged plenty of works and many awards have been gotten by them. Since growth is one of the basic themes of children’s literature and also is a marked tendency of the children’s fiction in Jiangsu, choosing the theme of growth as the entry point of the research can help study the traits more deeply. In this paper, the children’s fiction in Jiangsu in the New Period was selected as the research object. This paper investigates the complex construction of images and analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of lightness and discovers the values and the contribution of the children’s fiction in Jiangsu.The preface part mainly deals with the definition of concepts, summary of creation situations and introduction to relative present research.The first chapter studies the regional construction of images of the children’s fiction in Jiangsu. The children are classified into two types:rural children and contemporary marginal children.The second chapter elaborates the value connotation of the children’s fiction in Jiangsu.The aesthetic characteristics of lightness of the children’s fiction in Jiangsu are discussed in chapter three from three aspects:symbolic imagery, insertion of fantasy factors and comedy elements.The fourth chapter focuses on the interaction effect of the multiple identities of writers.The conclusion is the revision and summary of the whole paper and summarizes the achievements and significance of the children’s fiction in Jiangsu.
