In teaching Chinese as a second language, "writing" is regarded to be the most difficult among the four basic language skills, which is hard to teach and also difficult to learn for learners. Writing has always been the weakness for Chinese language learners, a lot of students’ writing skill is fell behind in listening, speaking and reading ability especially in the advanced stage. However, with the gradually increasing of language communicating level, the language skills speaker’s should be increased correspondingly.If the learner’s writing skill is poor, then the long-term development of language skills, such as listening, speaking and reading will be restricted. Therefore, in teaching Chinese to the other speakers of language, we should attach much more importance to how to help students solve the problem of writing. Combined with the teaching experience, the author thinks that correcting the composition is an important approach to improve the learners’writing ability.From the traditional correcting ways, teachers pay more attention to the result of students’ writing, and the methods and standards of correcting are more subjective and single, which seriously restricts the improvement of students’ writing ability. Combined the current studying results with my own teaching experience, I propose some detailed, specific and actionable correcting ways, which regards the intermediate class as the object of study, and fully considers the type, degree, language background, personality, psychological needs and other issues. Hoping that the study will let teachers gradually improve correcting ways and change the concept of correcting, making the composition-correcting play its proper role and furthermore, help learners to improve writing ability so as to make the four language skills:listening, speaking, reading, and writing have a comprehensive development.This thesis mainly consists of five parts:The introduction analyzes the significance of the topic, reviews the existing achievements and explains the contents and methods of the essay.The second chapter discusses the important role of writing instruction in Teaching Chinese as a second language, fully affirmed the importance of writing instruction to improve students’ writing ability.The third chapter firstly introduces the specific circumstances of my own teaching experience, including the teaching object, the selection of teaching materials and teaching arrangements. Then discusses the five problems existing in the intermediate class of writing teaching, which combined with the student’s composition, analyzes and summarizes the types of error students often appear in the writings.The fourth chapter is the main part of the article. Combined with her own teaching experience, the author puts forward some specific and operational correcting ways, which mainly includes corrections in writing, comments and feedback of supervision and guidance. Correction in writing is made up of three parts:correcting errors, comments and evaluating grades. Comment includes four parts:the collective evaluation, individual teaching evaluation, Multimedia aided evaluation and Email evaluation. Three methods are introduced in this essay about supervision and guidance. Moreover, along with the actual teaching case, the author makes detailed analysis of each correcting ways.In the last chapter, the author summarizes contents and analyzes the shortcomings of this study.
