This paper focuses on the research of the bitter-feeling words-- a type of the taste words, which makes the research object and the research content more specific. With the research of the bitter-feeling words, it explores the hidden culture which is hard to understand and master for foreign students. It is necessary to research this content because this is the content that the TCSL teachers would ignore easily and it can’t be explained clearly by dictionary. It is concerned with a lot of words such as hardship, pain, worry, forced smile, revival, bitter medicine and so on. From researching the meaning of these words, foreign students can clearly express the feelings of things by using the bitter-feeling words in communications, which helps them integrate into the surroundings and know Chinese national culture. Not only does this paper research the bitter words, but also combine the research achievements with TCSL teaching, which offers the feasibility proposals of classroom teaching.This paper contains five aspects:The first aspect is introduction. This aspect aims at elaborating the research significance of the paper’s topic and analyzing the research status. The second aspect is about the research of the bitter-feeling words. The concept of bitter-feeling words, a small part of sense of taste words, was from the concept of Chinese taste words. This aspect analyzes the cultural semantics and metaphor of this kind of words by example. The third aspect is about biased error analysis of the bitter-feeling words among foreign students. Firstly, this part explains the concept of biased error and states that our attitude of biased error should be more objective than negative. Secondly, it explains the five reasons of biased error. Finally, it analyzes the biased error in using bitter-feeling words of foreign students, basing on HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus of BLCU. The fourth aspect is about classroom teaching suggostions of the bitter-feeling words in TCSL. This aspect consists of four parts:the m(?) bitter-feeling words in teaching foreign Chinese; the teaching principles of bitter-feeling words; the teaching methods of bitter-feeling words and the suggestions of bitter-feeling words in classroom teaching skills. The fifth aspect is conclusion.
