In the modern world, the internet, especially the mobile internet, has changed and influenced many people’s daily life anytime and anywhere. With the aid of network, those traditional industries have also embarked on the road of updating and transforming. The in-depth combination of network and traditional media has given birth to the era of new media. Featured by being free and equal, the network media that focuses on the current event, explores the industrial information and spreads the gossip has offered greater possibilities and channels for the citizen’s right to express their own views, thus reflecting an emerging cultural phenomenon.Contrary to the mass culture, the network subculture has been closely related to those young people. It has also developed the distinctive feature in terms of spreading form and content. Hence, it has developed into a popular research topic in the field of communication theory. The research and analysis on the network subculture will be of significant theoretical meaning to social reality.Diors culture has been known as a popular subculture that prevails in the internet world. It is also perceived and expressed differently by different groups. With the typical feature of network subculture, the emergence and development of diors culture should be inseparable from the social environment where it is set. Based on diors culture, the TV series titled Diors Man has unfolded the life of a diors man. Made independently by a famous operator of network video, the TV series has given a vivid description of diors subculture. Besides reaping the massive economic profit, this TV series is also worth researching in the entertainment industry and academic community.Focusing on the network self-made drama Diors Man, this paper has made an in-depth analysis on the narrative strategy and ideological expression in the field of subculture. To be more specific, this paper is composed of the introduction, the network self-made drama from the perspective of subculture, the presentation of network subculture by Diors Man, the analysis on the narrative strategy in Diors Man, the ideological expression in Diors Man and the conclusion. The first chapter will give an introduction to the emergence and development of network self-made drama as well as the network subculture. The second chapter will analyze the construction of marginal culture and the establishing concept of network self-made drama highlighting a certain popular topic. The third chapter will elaborate on the narrative mode, narrative skill and narrative style in the Diors Man. The fourth chapter has analyzed the ideological expression of the drama from the angle of the youth’s subculture typical of resistance and the entertainment dilemma in the middle of consumption culture.Besides the massive click ratio and audience market, a successful network self-made drama should also own the deep cultural meaning and the high value of social research. By interpreting the network subculture reflected in Diors Man, this paper has expected to supplement the research on the network subculture, provide new research perspective for network video as a new media industry as well as provide reference for the reading public.
