Analysis On The Success Factors Of Domestic Small And Medium Cost Film And Its Development And Outlet

Chinese films are in the process of rapid development of industrialization. Low-middle budget films as an important part of Chinese cinema, was inundated and covered by blockbusters for a long time. Since 2006 with Ning Hao’s "crazy stone" achieving huge success, Low-middle budget films became a hot topic among the industrial and academic circles. The present paper sorted out the definition and features, and summarized the common characteristics of low-middle budget films. By particularly focusing on the study of typical and representative low-middle budget films, the author defined the success of low-middle budget films. Through literature review method and case study method, the present paper analyzed the typical and representative low-middle budget films, as well summarized the factors of low-middle budget films’ success. Although in recent years, low-middle budget films have made rapid progress on the quantity and quality, they still face with problems in the environment of film market and the context of the new media. Low-middle budget films should not only have the artistic quality of the film itself, but also grasp audience’s attention and balance the commercial and artistic proportion to win at the box office.
