Explosive Drilling Of The Yungang Grottoes During The Northern Wei Dynasty

According to the investigation and analysis of the holes remained on Yungang Grottoes, it is believed that those holes helped measuring the wall thickness based on the holes’sizes and distribution. Furthermore, this article also investigates the sequence of the hole digging based on the wall face situation, which may give impetus to the study of the history of Yungang Grottoes construction.
