In the characters of Han Dynasty, Tiles and Brick Inscription play a significant role for their surviving and high-quality works’ amounts. It produces a huge influence on the later calligraphic art. Though the literature is much, most of them are published with pictures.Besides, there is no comparative study between Tiles and Brick Inscription. This paper attempts to study Jin Shi’s recordation about calligraphy and findings of literature study. This paper is expected to reorganize Tiles and Brick Inscription of Han Dynasty and to have a knowledge about the framework of their influence.This paper includes four charters except introduction and conclusion.The introduction briefly introduces the relevant recordation, current research and the research method used in this paper.Chapter One reviews the historical change of Tiles and Brick Inscription. They are compared from the perspective of historical evolution, covering the differences and sameness.Chapter Two compares Tiles and Brick Inscription from the shape and process, including their differences and sameness. This chapter mainly analyzes the processing method of characters under different shapes and processes. The fan-shaped space of Tiles and the quadrate space of Brick Inscription have different requirements for the change of characters.The function of Tiles leads to simplex method for processing. By contrary, Brick Inscription has more methods. Therefore, the kinds of calligraphy formed from Brick Inscription is various.Chapter Three compares Tiles and Brick Inscription from their content and function. According to the analysis, it can be concluded that the differences in content and function lead to different methods for structure processing.Chapter Four analyzes the processing method of Tiles and Brick Inscription for calligraphic art, the evolution of characters they reflected, their influence on the calligraphic works in Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and the period of Republic of China. This chapter also discusses the calligraphic value of Tiles and Brick Inscription.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:Tiles and Brick Inscription of Han Dynasry refer to and supplement with each other.Besides,the discovery of Tiles and Brick Inscription can both prove the evolution of characters of Han Dynasty and have a great influence for the world,which shows that Tiles and Brick Inscription of Han Dynast is a brilliant part of China’s calligraphic history. |
