Parable is an important method for Christian sermon, and it is also an important literary branch for Christian literature. In Victorian age, after influenced by the scientific culture and the ideological trend, parable has changed his story style. At that time the science of natural history made the literature to explore the natural world. In late Qing dynasties, the science of natural history was also a vital part when western science was introduced into China. The ancient Chinese also had the science of natural history, so this discipline became the field where Chinese culture and western culture could both produce impact. On the one hand the science of natural history influenced the literature, on the other hand when the literature was translated into Chinese, Chinese culture would leave a trail on the translation. The main target of this essay is to answer how the cultural trend influenced the literature and how the Chinese culture influenced the translation of literature which based on parables written or translated by the missionaries in late Qing Dynasties.
