Document Arrangement And Research On Mongolian Temples In Qing Dynasty In Beijing

The Qing dynasty established a unitary multinational country on the foundation of Ming dynasty when Qing army occupied the territory in 1644.Qing government undertook a unified religious policy constructing a Belief Community of Manchu, Mongolian, and Tibetan,and as a result, many temples were built up in the capital city of:hence, there came forth the Mongolian Temple Inscriptions. Compared with those inscriptions in other area, A large number of Mongolian Temple inscriptions in Beijing area can reflect the ethnical, religious, and lingual information of ruling class at that time. The present thesis puts emphasis on presenting panorama of Mongolian Temple Inscriptions in Beijing area, as well as exploring its historical and cultural background via sorting out the Mongolian Temple Inscriptions in Beijing area.The first chapter of this thesis offers a comprehensive statistics of Mongolian Temple Inscriptions in Beijing area through a close study of contents, rubbing material, and comparison and contrast. Besides, this chapter adds resources of chorography and filed works to correct and replenish the data of contents and rubbing materials in former studies.The second chapter, discusses the topic in early time of Qing dynasty and mid-time of Qing dynasty respectively,with Qianlong Period as the division.Furthermore,this chapter chooses four representative and legible inscription rubbings to do case study according to the feature concluded from the stylistic rules and layout above.The third chapter, based on previous chapters, mainly discusses the changes of Mongolian linguistic policy and condition of Mongolian language use at that time through analyzing positional changes of Mongolian inscription in Qing dynasty in Beijing area and its state of translation. On this basis, this chapter probes further the reasons that cause the issues mentioned above. At last, this chapter lays emphasis on discussing the impact of the linguistic policy of use several scripts together to stand for a entirety of a multinational country and religious policy of Qing dynasty on temple inscription.
