Translation Strategies And Application Of Popular Language In Chinese - English Communication

Vogue word is worth being studied carefully in Chinese to English consecutive interpreting. The thesis first introduces the definition, classification and characteristics of vogue words, and then analyzes the interpreting problems in Chinese to English consecutive interpreting. According to the survey, factors which lead to the wrong interpreting can be cultural differences of English and Chinese, word to word interpreting and deficient qualification of the interpreter. The author gives strategies to cope with these problems in Chinese to English consecutive interpreting, which are amplification, essential integration and alienation. Further more, the thesis also analyzes the application of these strategies, hoping that the thesis will offer reference for other interpreters and the practice of interpretation of vogue word.
