The development of violin education in China has kept a stable improvement sin ce the establishment of People’s Republic of China, many excellent educationists and concert performers have emerged. The flourishing development of social music educa tion makes the violin education spread rapidly. More and more children and teenagers join the group of learning to play violin, numerous parents start to realize the signific ance of music education as well.Preschool time is the preliminary period of a child’s growth. Learning playing violin i s quite challenging to preschool children. Playing violin is a sophisticated skill, which requires comprehensive musical performance ability. Preschool children just stand in the primary stage of learning, having very limited capability of perceiving, studying a nd body coordination. This paper focuses on how to conduct an effective formative ed ucation of violin and how to improve preschool children’s comprehensive musical abi lity.The research was carried among several large-scale training institutions and the youth center in Xuhui District, Shanghai, which can describes the situation of how preschool children learn playing violin. This paper takes an objective position to analyze proble ms of preschool children when they learn to play violin. According to the result of the research, this paper finally finds three main points in teaching preschool children to p aly violin, those are strategy used by teacher, musical education in family and the syst em of training institution. Then rational analysis and discussion are demonstrated in e ach aspect.Basing on the data and analysis of the research, author takes some relevant theories an d his own experience from teaching into consideration, then put forward some advice towards those teaching problems. Furthermore, the purpose of all those is trying to lea d more profound thinking and discussion about formative education of violin towards preschool children, and look for more scientific teaching methods so that an improve ment of violin education towards preschool children is more likely to show up.
