In the 1980s, the state promotes "religious freedom" policy onto the stage again. Thereafter normal religious activities have been launched, repair and restoration of each temple began slowly, but temples are lack of a large number of Lamas, which become a major problem of Buddhist activities’ normal operation. In 1987, the former president of the Buddhist Association of Inner Mongolia Ulan XI Pueraria Buddhist circles as the representative proposed the establishment of Inner Mongolia Buddhist schools, training a group of patriotic Buddhist to fill the situation of lack of lama on Tibetan Buddhist in Inner Mongolia, and pointed out that this is closely related to the fate and forward direction of Buddhist successor. In June,1987 Lamasery in Baotou City enrolled the first batch of students Lama. Inner Mongolia Buddhist School is a full-time school which is organized by Buddhist groups and cultivates Buddhist. This is a new religious school that integrated traditional monastic education institutions and modern education cleverly. This paper interprets the school’s education, management, and functions from school background, process, status, function of the Buddhist school in Inner Mongolian. Thesis consists of three parts, the first part focuses on the historical background and process of building school. The second part discusses the status of the school. The third section discusses the social functions and religious function of this school.
