"Tan Bian dispute" occurred at the beginning of 21 stcentury was a series of contention and discussion between Dun Tan and Zushan Bian for the divergence of the concept of music. It focused on the development and acceptability of modern music that is represented by Dun Tan’s music in the field of Musicology, which involved lots of theorists, critics and composers. As an influential and far-reaching critical practice with the debate of musicology, the background of “Tan Bian dispute” was the multi-realistic context of critical music in post-new era. It not only reflected many of characteristics of modern musical criticism, but also exposed a lot of problems in theoretical and practical development. Therefore, this thesis is to analyze the connotative meaning and essence of “Tan Bian Dispute” as a musical critical practice in the multi-realistic context in post-new era and reflect the problems and disadvantages in the development of contemporary musical criticism to give different opinions and suggestions about the reconstructions of musical critical voice in China’s multi-cultural realistic context. |
