Significant developments have been made on music psychology over the past 20 years. The advanced research achievements on brain science have provided a new perspective on infant music cognition, emotion, preference and comprehension. Based on a thorough analysis of recent research reports, and combined with the author’s long time observational studies, this article summarizes the characteristics of infant music psychology and proposes some basic principles on infant music education.The article consists of the following 4 chapters: Hearing, Perception, Memory, Imitation and Creativity. Each chapter is divided into two sections, of which the first section analyzing the characteristics of infant music psychology, and the second section its corresponding education principles. Through thorough analysis and illustration, this article presents the principle of "susceptibility" of infants listening to music, the characteristic of "specificity" of music materials, the principle of "small Gestalt and timely review" of infant teaching, and the route of infant music imitation and creativity...
