| Abstract art is an international art style that appeared and prevailed in the first half of twentieth Century,it originated in Europe and flourished in the United States. The rise of abstract art, completely broke the traditional art of language system, material function and structural form of all sorts of limitations; art in the painting language, creative materials and creative means of a thorough change, so that all may become the art of such a concept to achieve. The contemporary abstract art of painting synthesizes various styles and features in the process of abstract development, new art practices continue to emerge, the unique charm of abstract painting has become a worldwide artistic expression way across national boundaries. In this paper, through the concept of abstract art, abstract painting in the history of the development of Chinese and Western history and abstract art in China, the characteristics of the performance, to study the occurrence and development of contemporary Chinese abstract painting.
