A Study On The Construction Of National Nation In Cambodia And The Process Of National Integration

Nation state has been the basic unit of the international community since modern times, and the most important in the contemporary international system and the basic behavior. The nation state is the product of the combination of nation and country, whether single national or multi-national country, they are all nation and country community. Nation state first produced in Western Europe, but compared to the original European singel nation, much of the country in the world of nation structure is complex, so the ethnic integration is very necessary. Ethnic integration of multi-nation country is the process of integrating multiple nationalities together, combining political integration with other aspects of integration, and cohering the history and culture of all nationalities community together, and in order to achieve the unity of the national identity and national identity, to realize the stability and development of national politics.As a multi-ethnic country,Cambodia must carry out various nation integration to build the nation state.Cambodia has been formed of multi-ethnic country in which ot her ethnic groups coexist with the Khmer from the ancient kingdom.ln the developent of history, although the national territory change somewhat, but this pattern is kept unt il now.In Cambodia, Khmer is the main body of the country, the core of national int egration is the integration of other ethnic minorities to the mainstream of society. This article will use the development of the historical time as the main line, describe changes of Cambodia nationality structure in the process of historical development. This article is divided into three aparts altogether. The first part, discussing the foundation of Cambodia national integration, introducing the history of Cambodia before modern time. The second part, introduceing Cambodia national integration goals,which based on the involving literatures. The third part, mainly introducing the relevant measures of nation integration after gaining independence from the French rule. After all, the Cambodian nation integration produced results, after takeing many nation building or nation integration policies and measures, especially for the integration of Khmer Loeu is most obvious. But Cambodia nation building is still not completed, there are the hidden trouble of the ethnic conflicts and ethnic separatism. Cambodia ethnic integration need to further strengthen and perfect, there still is a distance from finishing the national construction.
