A Study On The Arrangement Of "Jiangsu Music" In Music Periodicals

Jiangsu Music, founded by Chinese Musicians Association Nanjing Branch is a regional musical Jounal.This Journal mainly aimed at promotig the civilian music activities,which makes it an effetive symbol to indicate the music culture development in JiangSu Province.As a jounal that set musicians and fans as target market, Jiangsu Music took publishing writing songs as first priority and acquired considerable popularity. According to the versions in the publication, Jiangsu Music can be divided into two historical periods: from its foundation to a long-time pause is the first one(January 1958 to June 1959),from resuming publication to its closure is the second one(January 1980 to June 1993). The setting of music journals were unavoidablly influenced by the social & political background and music culture environment greatly,which is typically displayed during the ‘great leap forward’ and after the reform and opening up. As the one of the important media in Jiangsu province, it had considerable impact on people’s social life and music activities in the process of transmission. After describing the social musical background in the late 1950 s and 1980 s, this article analyzes the columns settings of Jiangsu Music on the basis of its two period classifications. The publication status, column characteristics and transmission function are discussed irrespectively. And an evalution is made on its merits and shortcomings. Finally its historical contribution is summarized from the perspective of columns settings.
