Rachel Carson who is a famous environmentalist in 20th century,is known as the mother of the environmental protection movement.Her masterpiece,Silent Spring,contains ecological justice thought that provides profound ideological foundation for modern theory of ecological justice.Cason’s thought of ecological justice includes that the entire ecological system is composed of both human and other creators of nature,which means they are equal in ecology and has the same right to survival and identical ethical value.Therefore,we should think human as ordinary members and citizens of life community instead of conquerors of earth community.Cason’s thought of ecological justice is the abuse of technology leading to the environmental crisis and inspecting and criticizing of ecological crisis rather than profound reflection on constant expansion of anthropocentrism since the industrial revolution.The essence of Cason’s thought of ecological justice advocates to maintain diversity and abundance of biology and achieve coordinated development and common evolution between human and nature.This article includes five parts:The introduction part shows the realistic background and necessity of research, which also presents domestic and abroad research status on eco-justice and Carson’s ecological justice thought.The second part analyzes and defines the origin and connotation and essence of ecological justice,which lays the theoretical foundation for the full paper.The third part reviews the biographies of Carson, and introduces major works, especially Silent Spring, and analyzes the background and the root of causes of Carson’s ecological justice thought.Besides,this part sums up Carson’s ecological justice thought in five aspects: biological rights theory,the holistic view of ecosystem,concept of ecological responsibility, non-human centered Idea,the idea of eco feminism.And this part also sums up multiple-dimensional effects produced by Carson’s ecological justice thought in three ways:initiator of the whole social environmental protection movement,stimulating development of thought of global ecological protection,promoting the formation of universal ecological justice theory.The fourth part explains approaches to promote the construction of ecological civilization after inspired by the idea of Carson’s ecological justice thought.To promote the construction of ecological civilization and create a socialist ecological civilization New Era,our country wants to take a series of measures,such as the spread and development of ecological justice theory,focusing on the harmonious coexistence between man and nature,respecting for the existence value of the community of life,promoting and realizing the ecological turning of science and technology,the establishment of mechanism of public participation in environmental protection,etc.The fifth part is the conclusion which generalizes the whole thesis and makes comments about Carson makes unremitting efforts and great contributions to the carer of human environmental protection.Hopefully,the analysis of this paper will make all sectors of society pay more attention to Cason’s ecological justice thought, and realize the importance of Cason’s ecological justice thought for epoch development,which Contributes to speed up the progress of the global environmental protection and the construction of ecological civilization.
