| Natsuhiko Kyogoku is Japanese mystery novelist, the leading figure of the Japanese second wave "New mystery".His most important work is the series of Kyogokutou. From the release of his debut "Summer of the Ubume" in 1994,he has already published eight works, including the first five of his debuts within 1994-1996 completed at an alarming rate, it can be called soul roots of the series. This paper selected the first five works to research and analysis from the aesthetic properties, the real meaning, narrative feature, entertainment and the traits between other mystery, which involve monsters elements, characters, context and history setting, narrative mode, as well as the entertainment qualities of mystery. Through analysis of these studies, to show how wonderful aesthetic character, literary character, and entertainment in Natsuhiko Kyogoku’s work, and find out the unique charm and the difference comparing with the other detective novels. This paper in full conformity with the original text, using Parallel Study in Comparative Literature, had mainly including literary theory to religious belief in the "divine encounter", the Japanese Cultural Psychology of "Oedipus culture", the “mono no awareâ€, meta-narrative, quantum narrative, postmodern deconstruction Perspective, mystery research.Through the study with Parallel Study in Comparative Literature on problems above. We found that the expression of aesthetic character in Natsuhiko Kyogoku’ works was rooted in the culture of Oedipus,consist of the monster, female and “mono no awareâ€. Its narrative has the characteristics of post-modern, and is a kind of meta-narrative deconstruction including quantum narrative, the root of its becoming is the background postwar Japan in the works, including modernity questioning and deconstruction. While the above two has reinforced the novel connotation and aesthetic. Kyogokutou series also emphasized the terms of entertainment, to make it breakthrough in mystery. Monster image and stream of consciousness style plot interspersed with strengthened story suspense to raise effect of the adventures and lust. This element is from the root of the reasoning of Gothic fiction novels, and Japan’s "lust culture", it is the solution for the improve readability to works. Above three sides, the series of Kyogokutou have established an important role in the mystery, and broadened the horizons of the mystery novel, enhanced the cultural connotation of mystery and aesthetic value to the future development of detective novels, offering valuable inspiration and hope. |
