Through the analysis of the creations of Plastov and Liu Xiaodong,this paper studies how they give realistic meaning and emotion to their works,and compares their similarities and differences to express the realistic meaning and emotional expression of realistic oil paintings in different periods.Plastov's works have a strong appeal.solid modeling foundation,strong colors and free and easy strokes are the unique charm of his works.he uses his own unique realism to show plain rural life scenes,giving the works strong vitality and appeal,especially the vivid characters in his works.While Liu Xiaodong is good at catching the typical emotional problems of people in the social life of the bottom class,and he is also the empathy emotion.His works show the loneliness and depression that contemporary people have forgotten in the process of urbanization,because they are personal life experiences,they can capture the inner feelings of people.In the realistic oil painting of figures,figures are the best choice for artists to express their feelings.taking two artists as examples,analyzing the importance of figures in works to learn from them has certain influence on my creation.Through the characters can better convey emotions,and is inseparable from life.for realistic painting,the theme should not only conform to reality but also be higher than reality,and it should have unique and profound painting skills to describe.Only with these can realistic oil paintings give strong realistic meaning and emotion.
