A Study Of The Book Of Filial Piety And Its Contemporary Value

Filial piety culture as the core content of Chinese excellent traditional culture, has been affecting people’s moral ideas and transform of the code of conduct. In the process of its historical development, it evolved into the national level of political ethics from the most primitive natural affection to family ethical principles. The emperors used it as tool to governing the countries.In order to achieve political purposes of purging justifications, respecting the feudal ethics, moralizing education and maintaining social stability, Tang Xuanzong as enlightened monarch, also explained twice principles of filial piety. His note not only contributes to the filial piety widely spread, but also realizes the spirit substance, value connotation of significance for our generations. He used the opportunity to realize his governing the country,the parish of political ideal and desire according to filial piety. So we need to research, summary and reflection it’s value reflected in the governing the country history, political history and history of Confucianism.This article adopts the method of text comparison and inductive analysis, it aims to research from the perspective of history and history of social that Tang Xuanzong explained royal filial piety’ reason, purpose, and enacted a series of methods, measures for governing the country and moralizing education of citizens. First of all, the article conclude Tang Xuanzong’ s note of filial piety from the historical, social and family reasons. On the one hand, he maintain his imperial power and the emperor’s absolute power, on the other hand, he was dissatisfied with the old version of the injection. Second, comparing with the Kaiyuan and Tianbao version points out that Tianbao version is more accurate and easier to understand and conformed the originally thought. It provides a solid foundation to solve filial problem. Third, the article evaluates Tang Xuanzong’ methods and measures in the principles of filial piety. Finally, the article discusses the construction of filial piety in the modern society according to explore the royal version. On the hand, we explore fully implementing filial piety’s education method and establish moral appraisal system. On the other hand, we suggest that reward filial people and promote traditional principles of filial through the legislation. We need the use of social management and technology for the construction of old-age service system. It is useful to build a harmonious society and provide some reference for the legal construction.
