From ancient times,Chinese calligraphy and painting have maintained intimate relationship,even if the formation of calligraphy was later than painting,but both the essence of art are communicated.First of all,painting and calligraphy using writing brush and xuan paper as tools,pay attention to the artistic conception and performance of subjective thought,they are expressed a lot of similarities in different creations.Secondly,painting and calligraphy think everything of the forms and changes in the actual situation of the “lines”,actually calligraphy is the art of lines,however,the lines are the soul of Chinese Painting.The artists can absorb nutrition from the line of calligraphy to obtained the inspiration and method of painting,then put the calligraphy style as the basic skill of painting.This article is mainly give expression to the calligraphic style and techniques from China during the late Ming Dynasty artist Xu Wei’s painting in specific analysis.I will summary of the art in different period with Xu Wei through my own understanding and exploration.The spiritual of painting art from Xu Wei,until the influence and development of Xu Wei’s artistic spirit on the contemporary art of painting.By studying calligraphic style in Xu Wei’s painting research and emphasize the relevance of calligraphy and painting,based on the contemporary art,then inheritance and development of painting and the far-reaching effects to the art of Chinese Painting.
