A Study On The Teaching Of Bach 's Piano Works

The keyboard music of Johann Sebastian Bach is a very important subject in classical piano teaching. It is irreplaceable for the students to build their polyphonic mind and refine their polyphonic skills. Besides, the study of Bach’s work will help to make great improvement in other keyboard works. However, the keyboard works of Bach is a giant system for its large number and the difficulty. Therefore, in daily teaching, especially in primary stage, how to choose materials and arrange the teaching becomes a question for teachers to consider.The theme of this article aims in exploring scientific didactics of Bach’s piano works. It briefly introduces Bach’s life and his achievements, analyses the importance of teaching Bach’s polyphonic works, states the way on how to arrange the teaching and choose the works. The article summarizes four principles and analyses eight basic questions of teaching Bach’s works.Hope the research will set an example for colleagues to pay more attention on didactics of Bach’s work, especially on how to teach young beginners. I’m looking forward to make progress on improving polyphonic didactics and devote myself to this career with all the colleagues.
