This thesis mainly focused on Chinese classical poems and songs. By combing the development of Chinese classical poetry, it elaborated particular aesthetic characteristics and performance contents under different political, cultural and social backgrounds. The paper launched its analysis across time and space in order to have a better understanding of the feelings and original life of the ancients.The whole thesis included three parts, they were: introduction, text and conclusion.Firstly, the introduction summarized the researching significance and esearching m ethods.Secondly, the text consisted of three chapters. Chapter one combed the developmen t of Chinese classical poetry on analysis of basic features and classifications. Chapter tw o illustrated the aesthetic features of Chinese classical poetry concretely from three diffe rent aspects-- language, rhythm and tune. Chapter three took two classical poems Guan Ju and Feng Qiu Huang for example. It did a further study on the ancient and modern sin ging performance comparison.Lastly, the conclusion part summarized all the paper. It al so did a good prospect of the inheritance of Chinese classical poetry.
