With the development of technology and the popularity of the Internet, the lawon the protection of fundamental rights of citizens has expanded from the real worldto the virtual space. The traditional information dissemination way has graduallyreplaced by the broader network. The growth of information and data has steppedinto the "explosive" stage of rapid development. In this context, an important part ofthe traditional basic rights of citizens-privacy, is facing unprecedented potentialthreats. Network privacy has become a hot social issue, and also set off a heateddiscussion over jurisprudence. Network privacy is a traditional combination ofprivacy and network technology products. The development of civil law that adapt tocontemporary technology gave birth to this new content. Its specific meaning is: in anetwork virtual environment, citizens enjoy the security of personal information andtranquility of private life protected by law without unlawful interference, whichspecifically includes the direct interference, being informed, collecting, copying,disclosure, use and so on. This essay is intended to make basic concept of networkprivacy as a starting point, conclude network privacy’s features, and introducenetwork privacy protection mode selection. The essay made comprehensivecomparison of national laws conflict and in-depth analysis of network issuesapplicable privacy laws. Combine the practices of network privacy protection indifferent countries and areas, the essay analyzed applicable law of network privacy.At last, in the light of our country’s reality, this essay has commented on the rule ofapplicable law on the issue of network privacy in our country, basing on which gavesuggestions on this issue, in the hope of it benefiting legislation and justice on thisissue in our country.
