S Wife 's Diplomacy

With public diplomacy rising and being widely accepted by the majority of thecountries all over the world, the status and function of women are becoming more andmore important. Ladies’ diplomacy is a performance of public diplomacy that womeninvolve and an important form of public diplomacy. China has not only the advantageof culture and female human resource, but also participates in the practical activitiesof ladies’diplomacy within a bright future.Ladies’ diplomacy is deeply related to national soft power and an importantapproach to constructing and promoting national soft power. It promotes to achievenational interest by the peaceful method such as persuading. And it aims to thegovernment and people on the opposite side. As its content constantly involves culture,ladies’ diplomacy itself is the display of national value and foreign policy, which issimilar to the three origins of soft power.The text is mainly analyzed through two point of views: one is first lady’sdiplomacy; the other is the diplomacy of ambassadors’ ladies. After introducing somerelated concepts and theories, this article compares the characteristics of ladies’diplomacy under different cultural background and the relations between itself andnational soft power. It also discusses the effects of ladies’ diplomacy, especially thepositive meaning to national soft power. Finally, base on the comparison above, it hasa discussion of the outlook of the lades’diplomacy of China.
