The Republic of Korea was founded in1948, for half a century, which turn itself from a small country in East Asia to a powerful country with strong economy and culture industry. In1998, the strategy of "country depends on culture" launched, the Korean government begins to actively support the development of cultural industries which eradicated the depression brought up by the Asian Financial Crisis of1997. In recent years, they took advantage of the rise of "Korean wave" in East Asia to spread their culture diplomacy in the world."Korean wave" brings South Korea not only huge economic interests, but also the change of its image. Today,"Korean wave" as a special measure of Korean culture diplomacy received great success in the area of Asia and continue spreading to the world, which provides a new approach for the study of South Korean culture diplomacy. This paper focus on the popular phenomena-Korean wave, on one hand, expounded Korean culture diplomacy from theoretical and practical point of view, on the other hand, try to analyze the advantage and disadvantage of Korean culture diplomacy which may give inspiration for Chinese culture diplomacy.This paper is divided into three parts. The first is introduction part. This part introduces the significance of the topic and the present study of Korean culture diplomacy. The second part is the main content which divided into four sections. The first section is an overview of Korean cultural diplomacy. The second section analyzes the factor of "Korean wave" in Korean culture diplomacy. The third section reviews the success and shortcoming of Korean culture diplomacy and what Chinese culture diplomacy will learn form the gains and loses of Korean culture diplomacy. The last part is the conclusion part.
