It has been25years since the establishment of APEC. APEC developed from aloose economic forum at the very start to a regional cooperation organized withleader’s meeting each year, which has a great influence to the Asia-Pacific economiccooperation and development. The financial crises in2008beat the global economy alot, APEC fell into the plight of stagnation as well. China as the biggest developingcountry in the world who increased its economy, injects the energy to the Asia-Pacificeconomy, and gains higher political and economic position.The paper reviews the development and achievement of APEC since itsestablishment, analysis China’s political and economic status in APEC in thepost-financial crises age, and through the analysis of status know better about China’simpact in APEC. In the analysis of political status, the paper combine the internationalsituation with State Prestige Theory; in the analysis of economic status, the paper usesa lot of macro-economic data, reflect China’s economic position directly.At the last, the paper gives some proposals and suggestions to China with theparticipation of APEC, hoping that China defuse the resistance to chances and graspthe initiative to make APEC a healthier regional cooperation which makes membersbooming.
