Western industrial society the law of development in Western industrial societyshows that the size of the middle class is an important indicator to measure acountry’s modernization degree and civilization degree. It has great significance insocial structure. Since reform and opening-up, the internal differentiation of residentsin our country is obvious, and the development trend of the social structure is toexplore, so the enthusiasm of academic circles to study the middle class has been lit.Middle class is an ever-changing social dynamic variable. The orientation and thedivision standard for the middle class is the focus and difficulty to study the middleclass. However, the current academic circles have not formed a unified point of view.By combing the literature this article found that previous studies not only lack of thesystematic study in the standard of the middle class, but also they learn from westerntheories and research methods automatically. The main content of this research isdivided into the localization of Chinese middle class. On the basis of combing therelevant research both at home and abroad, this paper chooses the level of socialstratification theory as the basic theory. It puts forward two theory hypothesis. First,the standard of the Chinese middle class will require further localization; Second, usehousehold consumption level instead of annual family income levels and theprofessional type, the education level of divided three standards for the middle classin contemporary China more in line with China’s specific conditions. In combinationwith the time background of our country is in a violent change, this article furtherassume that, social integrity, time change and social structure differences acting on thedifferent parts of the income, different age residents affected by education level andlabor market segmentation to the division standard for the middle class. This articleUSES CGSS2010years of survey data to the research hypothesis is verified, and theresult proves that the substitute consumption standards for income standard dividedthe reliability of the middle class. It found that the local characteristics of the middleclass, denied ever use a single standard or other standard to differentiate the accuracyof the middle class. It also discovered our country current social stratification"trapezoid" shaped structure characteristics and career in the important role of socialstratification, studied the social mobility of new train of thought, and it left a lot ofspace for later analysis.
