Postcolonial theory is the hot topic of contemporary literary theory and cultural studies circles, initially used to study the relationship between the colonists and the colonized,between East and West in the colonialism period. As one of the important post-colonial theories to be expounded, Homi.K. Bhabha, his theoretical approach of hybridity is novel, unique perspective, won academic attention, aroused tremendous response on a global scale. In the context of today’s globalized world, the issues still exists that is similar to "cultural colonialism " in the period of colonialism, Homi.K. Bhabha trying to use hybridity to discuss the national issue of the era of globalization so far. This paper reviews the important view of the post-colonial thinkers, to find similarities or differences from them that compared with Homi.K. Bhabha’s theory, and expound the generation, development of hybridity theory more completely, and the operational mechanisms of this theory, the expected effect to achieve. It associates with the characteristics of globalization in today’s society, it studies contemporary national identity and cosmopolitanism. It concludes the positive sense of hybridity theory, as well as the problems.
