The Diaoyu Islands dispute has existed for a long time and it is always one of the biggest obstacle factors of development of relations between China and Japan. In the twenty-first century, the Japanese government continued to launch an attack on the Chinese Diaoyu Islands issue. In2012, Japanese government suddenly purchased the Chinese Diaoyu Islands, Sino-Japanese relations are thus toward the freezing point.On the Diaoyu Islands dispute, the two sides have different attitude and do not only put forward their own ideas from history, geography etc., but also to find support for their own point of view from international law, And now there is not a good way to solve the Diaoyu Islands issue. The Chinese government advocates solving the Diaoyu Islands issue through peaceful means.Due to the special nature of the Diaoyu Islands issue the dispute still needs to be resolved by international law. So it is very necessary to analyze the principles of international law to identify the relevant provisions which benefit to our side. However, the solution of international problems does not exclude any element of army forces.On the Diaoyu Islands issue,there is too much political, economic and military negotiations between China and Japan. But the issue still has not been resolved. At present, the domestic papers and monographs on resolving the Diaoyu Islands issue mostly discuss the existing evidence and analysis which is not integrated with the deep-rooted factors. Therefore, this article briefly analyzes the differences of two sides and explore the available ways to solve the Diaoyu Islands by successful resolvement of the territorial dispute in international law to find the best way to solve the dispute of Diaoyu Islands between China and Japan.
