In the late1970s, in order to control the rapid population growth, our government put Family Planning Policy into effect. The effective implementation of the Family Planning Policy achieved low population growth rate. Besides, it provides favorable conditions for our socialist modernization. In the following30years the economic development of our country has made remarkable achievements which attract worldwide attention. However, with only children growing up, one-child parents started to enter the period of old age, along comes the endowment question. Due to the uniqueness of only children, resources for only children is fewer than multiple-child family. So the difficulty of only children’s family endowment gets increasing concern. The research is based on the study data from the project One-Child Family Interest Security Policy in Jiangning district done by Nanjing Institute of Social Sciences in June,2013.I am a member of this project. Using the method of SPSS16.0combining with descriptive analyses and interactive analyses, plus several non-structural interviews, all these ways help to explore the current situation, existing problems, its causes and influences on society, family and individuality of one-child family endowment. From these data, we put forward solutions to the phenomenon in Nanjing combined with learning experience from other developed areas.According to the study, I have found the following results: self endowment becomes prior; the role of family endowment is decreasing; the status of organization supporting and low awareness of community endowment stand out. There are some factors which affect ways of endowment. Such as follows: improve family economic situation, including family income, parental careers and children’s work; secure mental care which includes opinions on only children and concerning degrees for endowment. However, age has no effect on ways of endowment. There are also some endowment problems: the uniqueness of one-child makes them be faced with various difficulties; the endowment problems of people who are not local here; community endowment problems; endowment of families who lost one child. At last, we come up with detailed solutions from the perspectives of government, elder people themselves, only children and the whole society.
