Post - Cold War Sino - Burmese Relations

Interdependence is a very suitable theory framework to analyze the Sino-Myanmar relationship. It can explain the nature of bilateral ties-asymmetric interdependence; at the same time, it can also explain Myanmar while maintaining close ties with China and ask India to balance China’s influence in Myanmar. This article will attempt to use asymmetric interdependence theory as the framework to analysis the history between China and Myanmar, the reason of the asymmetric interdependence, essence, interdependent contradiction brought the negative factors in the relationship of China and Myanmar, Myanmar use India to balance China’s influence in Myanmar, and explore the future of this bilateral ties.
