A Study On The Election Of Village Committee In China

Since the reform and opening up, China’s village committee election work gained the success that attract worldwide attention. But because our country has a large population, a weak economic foundation, the unbalanced development of regional economy, feudal thought still exists, the democracy construction is faced with many grave challenges remain in practice. Scientific understanding and analysis of these issues, is to promote the effective operation of villager autonomy, the development and perfection of the necessary conditions, is an important premise to promote rural democratic political process.This paper is based on empirical investigation, present situation and the problems of G City, H Province, the election of village committee is discussed in detail, and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures. This article believes that, the village committee election are the main problem is not according to the prescribed procedures, operation, the excessive government intervention, the villagers participation consciousness, the phenomenon is more serious, the serious influence clan consciousness. The main reason lies in the relevant laws, regulations are not sound enough, the old administrative system, the influence of democratic participation mechanism is not perfect, democratic participation consciousness is weak, the illegal interests and temptation, the modern rule of law thinking and democratic idea flaw. Therefore, to improve and perfect the grass-roots democratic election to straighten out the related laws and regulations, training, the township government and grass-roots mass self-government organizations of the villagers democratic consciousness, arouse the enthusiasm, the establishment of a sound long-term effective, to facilitate the implementation of the supervision mechanism, guide the villagers set up the modern legal thinking and the concept of democracy is an important measure to solve these problems. Improvement and perfection of the election system will further promote the development of villagers’autonomy, so as to the construction of grass-roots democratic politics in China, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation Chinese dream to play a greater role.
