Since the study of Tongzu Qu, research into legal social history has become a new perspective for legal scholars, especially those who focus on legal history. Many scholars accept literature arts as an approach into legal social history and have conducted both extensive and intensive researches.Menglong Feng and Mengchu Ling, two writers in late Ming dynasty, complied and wrote Stories from a Ming Collection, which gave detailed descriptions of social lives, lower class ones in particular, and which reflected the thoughts and ideas of folks, making it the most popular and influential story collection of late Ming dynasty.This article categorized200stories from the collection and made comparisons between different stories. With the approach of legal relationship concerning marriage, family, lawsuit and business, etc. the article researched into the legal awareness of folks in late Ming dynasty and summarized important features.
