This article is based on Myanmar as a case to discuss the transformation of an authoritarian society to a democratic society, the relationship between the uncertainty of the social movements to the uncertainty of the political and media actions. In Myanmar, the authoritarian society is changing to a democratic process of social transformation, social movements are inevitable. The media play an indispensable role as actors. The Myanmar media in social movements shows a trend of differentiation; Official media as well as most of the private media are carried out in accordance with the government, they are handpicked to report the framework of professional activities. However there are breakthroughs in practices and thus official bans of a small number of private media coverage for sensitive events are given, and reports of large-scale coverage of sensitive events, constitute a very large impact on public opinion. Since November2010, the Aung San Suu Kyi event is a typical case, this paper will examine how the media in social movements are defined, especially sensitive events. This papers structure will discuss strategies and methods of the different types of media.
