The Exploration Of Socialism In Hu Qiaomu Since The Founding Of New China

The study on socialism theory and socialism principle develops gradually. China’s socialist construction practice experiences many difficulties. In new period, CPC needs to combine the scientific socialism theory with China’s real facts and conditions, resolving the problems and difficulties, building the modern socialist country with Chinese characteristics. The study on the socialist construction process since1949is needed. Hu Qiaomu—the special figure who witnessed the whole history. He rethought the CPC’s socialism theory, polices principles, and the important events during socialist construction process in CPC’s history, which reflected that CPC developed the socialism theory on socialist construction and summarized the historical experiences and lessons.Hu Qiaomu once served as the secretary of the MAO Zedong and the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, the assistant of Deng Xiaoping on publicity work of Marxism theory after the Third Plenary Session of the11th Central Committee, the important leader on publicity work about CPC’s theories and thought.He witnessed the history from the founding of PRC to the reform and opening up of China,who participating in the drafting work on CPC Central Committee’documents, decision and comments,which not only developed CPC’s guiding ideology on socialist construction, providing the new insights for the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics,but also consolidated the establishment of the socialist system in China, affecting the historical process of China’s socialist construction.This paper attempts to study Hu Qiaomu’s thoughs on socialism,combining with the historical practice, analyzing Hu Qiaomu’s cognition and propaganda work on socialism in different historical period, studying the the related policy and propaganda work on socialism theory in different period, finding the historical experience and lessons. The author evaluated the historical position of Hu Qiaomu in the socialist construction objectively and fairly. The recognition and exploration about Chinese socialism of two generation of collective leadership of CPC, provided reference for socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics in the new period.This paper was divided into three parts:introduction, body and conclusion.The first part was introduction. It mainly explained the reason of selecting this topic, the research significance, and the research ideas. Besides, it made necessary explanation about the core concepts of socialism problems.The second part was the main body, including the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth chapters.Chapter2:After the founding of new China, Hu Qiaomu explored the related questions of socialism. Firstly, this chapter introduced Hu Qiaomu’s theoretical propaganda work on the transition from new democratic state to socialist country. He elucidated the social nature, nature of the state and the system of government during this period, and the issues on labor-capital relations, CPC’s rectification movement, the intellectuals ideological reform work, the general line for the transition period, the relationship between the socialist camp and the capitalist camp and so on. Secondly, it introduced Hu Qiaomu’s propaganda work on socialism construction theory, including the qualitative analysis of intellectuals in the new period, the summary about the spirit of The Eighth National Congress of CPC, between socialist countries’relation. Finally, it focused on Hu Qiaomu socialist theory and polices from the establishment of the People’s Republic of China to the Cultural Revolution, aiming at learning the17years’ history from the objective aspect.Chapter3:Hu Qiaomu’s reflection and development on socialism issue after the Cultural Revolution. At first, this chapter introduced Hu Qiaomu’s reflection on socialism issue from the end of Cultural Revolution to the begin of The Thirteenth National Congress of CPC, mainly including the scientific interpretation of MAO Zedong thought, the reflection on socialist class struggle, re-establishing the work center on economic construction, putting forward the overall goal, general layout, scientific connotation on socialism with Chinese characteristic, thinking of construction of socialist spiritual civilization, adhering to the socialist humanitarian, explaining the negative phenomenons in socialist country. Secondly, it mainly stated Hu Qiaomu rethink of socialist issues after the Thirteenth National Congress of the party, including his summary about four fundamental factors affecting China choosing socialism,the"left"errors during the socialism construction period, the new understanding on socialism, the confidence on the policy of the reform and opening up. Finally, the author pointed out the deficiency of Hu Qiaomu’s view in this period.Chapter4:Since the founding of new china, the characteristics of Hu Qiaomu’s cognition on socialism issues. This chapter, based on a large of Hu Qiaomu’s dissertation on socialism issues, showed the characteristics of the study, such as the process of cognition was full of twists and turns, the contains of cognition was all-around, the pattern of cognition was open, and the tendency of cognition was scientific, which was helpful for us to better understand the socialist theory that needed development in practice.Chapter5:The conditions that affecting Hu Qiaomu’s recognition on socialism. This chapter mainly analyzed the factors that affected Hu Qiaomu’s one-sided understanding on socialist issues and the reason why he could re-set the scientific recognition on socialism, from the aspects of political conditions, the influences from MAO Zedong and Deng Xiaoping, his own Marxism theory accomplishment and personal qualities. This chapter aimed at evaluating Hu Qiaomu objectively, and evaluating his exploration about socialism after the founding of new China objectively.Chapter6:The contemporary value of Hu Qiaomu’s propaganda work and deep study on socialism issues after the founding of new china. Based on the above chapters, combining with China’s new situation, new issues, summarized his exploration-on socialism systematically,which had significance on today, including sticking to the four fundamental principles, actively dealing with the negative phenomenon of the socialist society, adhering to the party democracy and the construction of socialist democracy under the leadership of the party, continuing to strengthen the construction of spiritual civilization, building the socialist core values; managing the relationship between socialism and capitalism in proper way, in order to construct the social modernization with Chinese characteristics.The third part is the conclusion. It mainly gave a brief summary, pointing out the ’deficiencies of this paper to make a further study.
