A Study On The Development Of Women 's Social Organizations In Shanghai

As a special social organization, female social organization has the same function and impact as general one. But it has the advantage to make up for the nation’s lack of supply of public administrative service to female group, improve women’s living environment, expand women’s social participation in public activities and enrich female public service. The development and functioning of the female social organization surely help to promote gender equality and women’s development. With the changes of social structure and the innovation of social management system, the female social organization will have more and better space to develop.However, Chinese female social organizations are "scarce resources" and at the preliminary stage. Their development has not enough recognition and attention. There is the lack of systematic study in the current situation of development of female social organization. Therefore, it has great significance to pay attention and study the development of female social organization.In this article, I focused on the female social organization in Shanghai With questionnaires and thorough interviews, as well as the analysis of documents and data from research, I investigated the basic situation, survival resources, social support and the head of the organization. At the same time, I analyzed the type, typical feature and effective role of female social organization, studied the organization’s predicament and tried to propose policy recommendations to promote the sustainable development of female social organization。Through the analysis, I found that Shanghai female social organizations had typical characteristics, which were different from the general ones, especially in the attachment with the resources of government and women’s federations and situation that the majority of the head of organizations were women. In addition, the female social organizations faced with the plight of the existence and development. In terms of these problems, this article will be based on Governance Theory and Empowering Theory, with the perspective of governance, studies social organizations’mode of operation and development how social organizations empower women in order to promote the development of women’s group.
