Peru has the second largest number of overseas Chineseimmigrants in South America, and is the only country in LatinAmerica which has established the comprehensive strategicpartnership and signed the free trade agreement with China. Theoverseas Chinese in Peru is one of the most important factorswhich have significant influence on the China-Peru Relationship.The overseas Chinese in Peru has experienced a transition frompassive participants to active participants to the bilateralrelationship, playing the role of bridge of communicationbetween China and Peru.This article introduces three stages of the history in whichoverseas Chinese immigrants came to Peru, and speaks highly oftheir contributions to the social development of Peru, discussestheir positive influence on the China-Peru relationship, topresent the whole picture of history of the overseas Chineseimmigrants in Peru.
