Research On Charity Supermarket In Guangzhou Public Service System

Charity supermarket is a new social charity project which set up in recent yearsduring the public service reform. Using commercial supermarket model, this kind ofsupermarkets established itself as a community charity service supplier, donationplatform and second-hand retailer. Charity supermarket is playing an important role inimproving the poor’s living condition; inspiring people donate enthusiasm and helpingto build a harmonious community. Despite the rapidly development of charitysupermarket, they’re facing many problems such as low profitability, improperdistribution of human resource, outdated management styles, unclear informationdistribution mechanism and so on. Such problems will prevent the charitysupermarket develop process. How to achieve sustainable development and enhancethe service supply quality of charity supermarket is a new research project.Currently the academic research of charity supermarket based on public serviceis rare. In this article,taking Yuexiu District charity supermarket of as cases, usingliterature review, field working and interview as research method, gives an analysis tocharity supermarket service characteristic, operating mechanism and problem thatthey faces. We’re trying to figure out how the charity supermarket works, what kindsof service they supply and countermeasures.This article is divided into three parts. The first part elaborates an overview ofpublic service system and Charity supermarket. The second part is status research ofcharity supermarket in Guangzhou. Including the set up and current situation ofcharity supermarket in China and USA. The social background of charity supermarketrises in Guangzhou, and finally a summary of Guangzhou charity supermarketdevelop characteristics. The third part is research about problems that appeared duringcharity supermarket’s public service. Also provide proposal on the problems. First Ianalyzed problem such as lack of profitability, human resource, informationtransparency and the range of service supply. Then I analyzed the reasons that causesuch problem. Finally I put forward some advice to solve such problems.
