Study On The Causes And Countermeasures Of Occupational Stress Of Police In Binzhou City

At present, China’s economy is developing rapidly, and people’s living standard isimproving, but the society is threatened by all sorts of violent and terrorist crimes which occurfrequently. The police are facing great challenge to keep the safety of our country and to ensurepeople’s peaceful life. The process of ruling country by law is speeding up, and the publicsupervision system is becoming perfect gradually. The police’s work is facing challenges underthe strict demands and high standards. Under this condition, their occupational stress isextremely high, and a series of consequences caused by this stress is getting obvious. Such as,some negative emotions appear, their bodies are in sub-health condition. Even more, someviolations will happen frequently to affect the healthy development of the police individualdirectly, restrict their occupational function severely, and threaten the national harmoniousdevelopment and the people’s peaceful life and work greatly.This article introduces the concepts of the police, the police profession, the policeprofessional pressure and the characteristics of police profession stress in detail, and elaboratedthe interaction theory, individual-environment matching theory, job family border theory, thespecific content of incentive theory, and also point out the significant to reduce the pressure onthe police profession.Based on a psychological report of the police in Binzhou’s public security bureau, thisarticle describes three aspects of the current situation of the police occupational stress in Binzhoucity: working aspects including the big working strength, low welfare, many sacrifice ofcasualties, increasing of extra training; psychological aspects including irritable anxious,self-repression, sensitive interpersonal work weary; physical aspects including generalsub-health, major diseases, and the national police appear the similar problems.This article analyses the reasons and problems of causing this series of police occupationalstress from the working situation, the public relations construction and system guaranty, andanalyses the current working situation from less police, more work; the risk of work; the use ofguns and legal position, analyses the problem existing in the construction of public’s rights anddisclosure of information. This article also analyses the problem of police organization systemfrom political and economic; equipment support; psychological services and the maintenance ofrights and interests. These lay the foundation for putting forward countermeasures and improvingmeasures.This article puts forward some available measures to reduce the pressure on the policeprofession, raises the construction of police security system mainly from the revision of thepolice law; adding a sin of assaulting a police officer; using police scientifically and increasing the ways of training and some other aspects, and it puts forward to establishing an internalmanagement system from the political security; welfare policy; occupational health and policeculture. This article also puts forward to strengthen the construction of public relations fromestablishing the image of the police; increasing of the publicity of police affairs and starting thenews spokesman.
